It's probably good for an artist to travel - and I've done very little of it in recent years. I like the contrasts and warmth of this painting - and as one who is of Irish and Welsh descent, I know what you mean about identifying with your Celtic heritage.

I've been wanting to visit Scotland for many years but I rarely go beyond my village. I'm of Irish descent on my mother's side and I'm proud of my celtic heritage. It is nice to paint an actual place since many of my landscapes are from imagination and it was enjoyable to do because the Highlands are a place I have alot of thoughts about for their beauty and vastness.
