This would make a lovely entry for our Christmas painting competition Mike! See links on the homepage if you are interested.

I'm surprised that the POL team hasn't pulled you up about advertising to sell on this web site...most of us who post our work do so as amateurs who paint for pleasure not profit. On any other web site you would have to pay to advertise your work but here, you can do it for nothing, and that, I object to.

Thanks Painters-Online Team, I'll have a look at the competition page.

I fully accept and understand your objection Roger, and I have had doubts about mentioning that my works are for sale (although I do not quote prices). I am retired and paint on what one would probably refer to as a semi-retired, self employed basis (ie the sales are not my main income, but I do like to sell as opposed to painting just for pleasure). I wouldn't regard myself as "a professional", but I do like to cover my costs. I hope this makes sense and that you understand my viewpoint. I'm sure many of the artists featured are members of art societies and sell there work in society exhibitions - that doesn't necessarily mean they are professionals.
