Interesting old shop. I like way you portray everyday scenes. the person adds life to it. I suspect your perspective is slightly out on the shop though. The angle between front and side wall seems to be much more than the usual 90 degrees. An interesting gallery. I like your diesel train also; the bridge is very good and the recession works well. Now that you have your gallery set up, I'd suggest that if you want feedback, you try to post no more than about 2 a day so people get the chance to comment on them individually. Folks just don't have the time to go through a whole gallery with individual comments. It also gives others a chance to stay on the front page for a while and get feedback too. New posts don't go onto the second page if you have a gallery that's been going a while so they often get missed.

Thanks for you comments regarding posting Diana. I hadn't considered that. The perspective of the shop is actually quite correct. It's just that the shop is a strange shape. The shop follows the angle or the road junction and the angle of the front wall is much greater than 90 degrees. The shape of this shop has always attracted me to it. I like the way it appears to distort the perspective. Feel free to leave a comment on my blog - I welcome the opportunity to discuss my work.

Just popped back to your gallery after reading your blog and wanted to thank you for being understanding> I wasn't getting at you for posting a lot; most people do do that when they first set up a gallery but eventually your portfolio , as it gets older won't even be on the second page any more so when paintings go off the front page they get buried somewhere deep in the site and you just don't get feedback. You could join the forum and tell people when you post something new but it's a pain to keep going back and forth. When POL set up the new "search by date " function it should be easier to find new posts. The feedback on here can be really helpful especially if you are not sure whether a certain thing works. There are some very experienced professional artists who give very freely of their time and expertise. Thanks for the explanation about the shop; I did wonder if it was really like that. I've just completed a series of paintings of my area and I also had one building like that which had a bowed chimney. If you know it, it's fine but if not it looks really strange. I wonder what the rooms inside the shop look like LOL.

Hi Mike although I grew up in Belfast we had one of these at the bottom of our street...in fact I think there was one on the bottom of every street...love the red brick houses...lovely painting evoking many memories
