This is wonderful, Midori! I love the beautiful colors and superbly accurate tonal work you used to depict the turtle and the e-tegami is such a lovely concept!

It's not a turtle though, is it? It's a giant tortoise. Cousins, but different. If this chap put out to sea, he'd sink.

Hi Seok Yam, Carole and Robert, Ups, yes, not turtle. A giant tortoise! In Japanese, all are called Kame. So in midtake, I just traslate to turtle. Thank you for correcting my English. This is a huge tortoise, but I didn't paint something tiny thing in this piece to prove how big it is. That is the next assignmet to me.

I painted E-tegami to my mum yesterday. E means picture, tegami means letter in Japanese. E-tegami(post card size) are really, really popular in Japan. Paint anythig and add some words and sent from a postoffice. There are lots of E-tegami classes in Japan.
