Midori, this is a wonderful portrait - what a great character and you've captured him so well. I've been inspired to try and paint in a style similar to yours and recently posted my first attempt. Would like to know how long it takes you to do a painting like this one - is it done in one sitting or do you build up the washes gradually? And what size is this?

HI Jane, Thank you for the comment. It depends on subjects. If I'm inspired amazingly, I finish it quicly, but not imspired much, I took long time. Draw and hanging landries, the first wash and clean up rooms, the second and grocery shopping and ,,,. like this. I use A4 size paper. The reason is simple, the big paper is expensive. (ha ha ha)

Thanks Midori, for your resposnse. I know that so many household things have to be done and that's a good opportunity for the paint to dry. I thought perhaps you did it all in one go and I couldn't work out how. I am reassured - and still very inspired to try and paint the way you do - but can see it will take lots of practice and time...

My camera broke yesterday. I always take photos and post my piece. Since I have to use my daughter's tiny camera, photo quality is not great. How everybody normally do post pieces? camera or scaner? He comes from Bangradesh and works in this farm. He must be looking after camels today same as usual. It's time to meet him again today. It weekend in UAE! Happy painting day !!!!
