Haverthwaite Station after the Shower
I first saw Haverthwaite Railway Station about twelve or thirteen years ago. A flashback in time. So much character. A museum preserving steam locos, lorries and memorabilia, a tea shop, gift shop, working steam locomotives and higgledy-piggledy careless hand-writing on the signs. More character. I just had to try to capture the atmosphere, which at the time was a trifle damp. I hope the picture conjures nostalgia and a smile. Oil on gessoed board (three coats). 16ins X 12ins. Unframed. For sale at £195.
