I like this a lot. It has achieved the softness that you have sought, and has remained fresh and lively. Have you attempted some scratching to reveal some paper for highlights? There appears to be some scratching which may not enhance the overall effect, and where lifting out, or dare I say it, opaque white, may have worked to your benefit. However, overall very nice indeed.

Here's a photo of a small watercolour portrait that I have recently completed of 3-year-old Fiona. I've tried to capture that delicacy of the small child, particularly in little girls. I don't often do watercolour portraits but I'm pleased with this and think I have caught Fiona nicely! Selected for the Armed Forces Art Society Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London 11-17 Jul 16
