Have a lovely Christmas, Michael and good health and happiness in the new year.. I know the leaves problem well..I have a copper beech hedge ..beautiful under snow, and in new green curly spring opening buds, but watch out for sheddings! (Groan!) I'm getting (got) too old to wield a stiff brush any more, but can't face the thought of living anywhere else!

Thank you G,R,S,and C - I am just so pleased that I am no longer faced with all the clearing away although I do now have a small ivy-covered walled garden and the ivy needs to be regularly pruned back to keep it in shape and to stop it going rampant.

(ps Our garden is surrounded by Horse chestnut, mountain ash and sycamores trees - not ours - but the leaves are for us!! Make good compost though.)

I doubt if I will be posting again this side of Christmas so I would like to wish all of you the very best for Christmas and the New Year. I would also like to thank all of those who have taken the time to comment on my work - it has been really appreciated. This is a painting of part of the garden in my old house - having down-sized about three years ago this was done from an old photo - hope you like it. (The tree, by the way, is one of the largest Sycamores you are ever likely to come across - a beautiful tree but I don't miss all the clearing up in the autumn!) http://www.michaeledwardsartist.co.uk/index.html
