WOW!! Fabulous Michael, full of atmosphere and a limited palette used to great effect!

You certainly have been adventurous. Well done. A bit like Turners' painting of the Bell Rock!!

Thanks Fiona and John. Never set out to produce a Turner type painting (well not consciously anyway). I just enjoyed playing around with the washes and trying to achieve a balance of tones. I think it sort of works.

Hi Michael, all I can say is I'm glad it not me in the light house. Really like it a lot, never tried rough paper before, defiantly going to have try. Just love the feeling and textures you have achieved, nearly finished Great Baddow, will post shortly, it will be intresting to see comments.

Like it, I love it. Not your usual style but just as striking. The light you have caught in the sea and sky really make this painting.

I agree this has the wow factor Michael,I was immediately drawn to it on the gallery

Thanks to you all for taking the time to comment

Wonderful colours and effective in its simplicity. As Fiona says, WOW!

A stunningly dramatic piece, Michael. It certainly makes a statement.

Wonderful piece ! The light is beautiful

I like the looseness and spontaneity of this painting.

Wow! This is marvellous Michael - the word 'tempestuous' comes to mind for the sea and the atmosphere is breathtaking.

A beauty... All your collection. You capture the light so wonderful, I am speachless when I watch your paintings. STUNNING......

Congratulations on this painting being chosen for the month of January :-)

Great light ! & in the medium I just can,t paint with & the gods know I tried -

A brave piece, and such a success! I wish I could paint a watercolour like this! Bravo. You are right...go for fun..uninhibited, and that is when it really works.

Done for fun - probably the best way - on Arches 300lb rough using just ultramarine, light red, raw sienna, and some burnt umber. Oh yes - and a bit of white gouche for the hell of it. I just did it as it came to me and it evolved as most works do. Hope you like it
