I really like this. It looks very peaceful with lovely reflections and tonal values.

You bridge to your heart's content: I like bridges.... and will always be happy to see lovely, soft tonal paintings like this, with the hard accent of the dark beneath the bridge pulling it all together.

Hi Micheal, thanks for the tips on my paintings, your bridge now makes me want to attempt one, i love the shadow you have painted under your bridge and your trees

I think you've saved the best until last Michael, this is fabulous. Love the negative undergrowth work under the trees.

So pleased you like it and thanks for your encoudagement. On looking at it again I might add a few more reflections and a bit of tonal strengthening here and there.

I too like this one Michael.

Hi Michael, I wondered if you would and I like this mutchly. Its a good study and a good idea to work in sepia for tonal values, well done and thanks for the inspiration. Best regards Chris

Me too...I like this a lot, Michael! Working just with tonal values is an interesting thing to do, and can be unexpectedly effective. Not that yours is unexpectedly effective - just very pleasing to the eye and loaded with skill as we've come to know.

I'm a big fan of colour but I really love this in sepia, it makes it a rather special painting.

This is lovely work Michael, very fresh and loving the sepia.

Thanks G, C, J, V, and D for your encouragement and kind words.

Both your paintings of this bridge, from each side, are lovely. This one, however, is my favourite because of the limited pallette - one has to work harder and it's more enlivening, if that makes any sense!

It's lovely, Michael, and the tonal work is superb.

This is the painting based on the first of the two sketches posted a few days ago. I have already posted the painting from the second sketch which shows the other side of the bridge. Thought I'd do this one in sepia - always a good exercise in tonal values. Anyway I'm now all bridged out and I promise I will now move on to other subjects.
