I quite like the black mount but perhaps a white mount would be better if you're going to use a white frame? It looks like the method you've used to paint this is sponging or splattering? Whatever it is the outcome is very effective!

Thanks Christine and Dennis. I find splattering with acrylic a bit difficult unless you water the paint down in which case you lose out a bit on colour intensity. As for a sponge I find they get a bit claggy if you know what I mean. Actually I use very coarse wire wool - a bit like the grade used for pot scourers. I just use a small piece at a time and discard after each colour to avoid colour transfer. Simples!!

Very effective Michael. I agree with Christine re mount and frame. I thought at first your white colour was that iridescent paint......an idea?

Agree with Christine about the white mount. Black is very strong and easily dominates and " eats up " the whole painting. I would never have thought to use wire wool to paint with but now, yes, sounds good! Thank you for sharing the tip Michael. Great abstract too!!

Experimented with float mounting which I usually use for my line drawings - seems to work OK - 16ins by 16ins mount size - not sure yet what colour frame to use - black is too heavy but white looks quite good. Also wondering if the black backing card should be white rather than black. Think I need to play around with it a bit before deciding. Acrylic - Anyone any idea of the method used to paint this?
