I love this painting Michael. I am a big Tolkien fan and can imagine 'The Fellowship' trying to reach their destination in this scene. Your other paintings are excellent too - very original and forget about the glazing, it is great as it is.

much as i think the glazing of my recent paintings worked to soften and harmonize the image i thought id paint something with quite hard dramatic lighting and colour. i am not planning to use glazes on this rather i want the colours to maintain themselves.
