This has a lovely quality to it. References are just that. You can work them any way you like. What size do you work with?

i nearly always work from imagination and very rarely work from a photo but just lately ive found my mind going abit blank and theres so many beautiful photos online of this beautiful planet that i thought id do something different. the natural effects i think are greater in this picture than in other of my paintings and since i always aim for realism im quite happy with this little rendering of a sunset on a stretch of water. i didnt work from the photo slavishly though hence the title of the painting.
