i experiment alot not just with painterly technique but with the nature of my tools. painting in and painting out is a technique which i think goes back to the sixties. i think scraping out is possibly more common but painting out is good too. this is actually an exaggeration of the sfumato technique and my first thought was to paint the ghost of Rebecca, the character from the book by de maurier.
