Lovely painting, Michael. I appreciate your words and your aim.

Your portraits evoke powerful and investigative thoughts, Michael. They are interesting, and mysterious.

Thankyou my friends cesare and ann. Im quite a deep person at times aswell as having a quite infantile sense of humour. If my portraits are anything they are deep.

i feel that the human face is key to the universe and if a picture can tell a thousand words then a portrait can tell a million. like my friend cesare the portrait is what fascinates me the most. i think rembrandt would have partook in this fascination. i try to show the inner light of a young woman beset by tormentors. it is a theme i will continue in future portraits. it is a theme i can relate to. i always try to be subtle in my painting. i dislike extravagent gesture and facial expression. because my hinting at this young womans emotions is subtle, many may not be able to read accurately the extreme suffering of the subject.
