Yes, this portrait does resonate with the old masters style and the features do express youth, yet she carries some grief in her expression from her eyes and lips as though she has lost someone special.However, this is a good portrait and so you should be happy to have achieved a masterpiece! Oil on canvas. I'm obsessed with the old masters like rembrandt which this image might give some hint. I do my best. More often than not entire works need to be painted over and started from scratch. I lack discipline. I'm very impulsive. I rarely make any preparation. My pictures consequently suffer. Yet I still have these very bad habits. Corners cut all the time. My mum always tells me to knuckle down and do things properly but my temperament dictates otherwise.
