An old man's final day reposted by Michael Hanrahan

... even better Michael, there's so much spirit in this.

An impossible subject, one beyond my ability to depict, but you’ve managed it with understanding and humanity. It invokes thoughts we all have. Especially those my age. I don’t fear my last day but just hope I can slip away quietly. I’ve had a wonderful life if not an easy one. It’s the small kindnesses that made it worthwhile. There’s not enough kindness in the world, but my family and friends have given me more than my fair share. I don’t have the words for this so I’ll shut up. I missed your first posting of this painting, so glad you reposted. It’s very fine work Michael.

Thankyou heather and thankyou Lewis i appreciate your comment very much and very well said my friend.

I wanted to repost this for two reasons. Firstly I managed to photograph it under much better light which I hope changes the mood of the picture. Secondly I want to dedicate it to robert jones because his comments are to be honest the best and in some cases the most profound of any ive received. Theres another reason also for which I wont go into here but something he mentioned on my previous post. Robert your comments always give me alot of food for thought. Thankyou.
