An interesting picture; but i wonder if the trinity would be better represented with the three blue triangles interlinked?

Hi Grahame, the question of wether to link the three triangles or not was the most diifficult aspect of the whole painting, i draw all my painting's out on paper the same size as the canvas and i toyed with both ideas for a while, even though the trinity in this piece has a minor link to religious belief's i did like the idea of the three facets of a core principle, plus a tri-metal triangle would be a good contrast. I am starting to plan out a piece based on the ancient Egyptian Ennead, hopefully it will work ok.

i like this.........love the little figues and the background............. the linked triangles work well........egyptain culture is so inspireing

Thanks Ruthy, im really pleased you like it.

I think this painting is fantastic. Are you familiar with the work of J.F.C. Fuller? He did works including 'Portal of the Abyss', seen on the cover of some of Aleister Crowley's books. The colours you use remind me very much of his work, he used a lot of Egyptian imagery as well. Of course it was right to link the triangles. The yellow/orange works well in the centre. Great to have the balance of opposites, solar/lunar colours.

Hi Kathryn, no im not familiar with his works but i am familiar with Aleister Crowley, i will take a look at Fuller's works, sounds good. Its not easy to see but the triangle in the centre is painted with three metal oil paints, copper, bronze and gold, a reference to the ladder we have climbed as a species.
