This is so beautifully atmospheric, Mia! Absolutely love the stormy sky and the pristine glacier. Marvellous use of color and light!

That's what I was going to say! Seriously, it is a beautifully painted picture, Mia. And thanks for your most recent comments on mine.

Beautiful and athmospheric painting Mia, very nice composition and great colours

Great atmospheric and glowering sky, Mia! It contrasts really well with the glowing gold of the rocks and and paleness of the glacier.

Very nice Mia. You've captured the sunlight and the approaching bad weather over the mountains well. It's very atmospheric. Hope you didn't get caught in that storm!

Great sky Mia. I love these conditions...dark, dark sky and then the bright sunlight as contrast. Beautifully painted.

Thank you so very much, Seok, Lionel, Petra, Thea, Louise and Sylvia, for so many lovely comments. As I most of the time work with pen and wash, a "pure" watercolour is a bit out of my comfort zone. I really appreciate the fact that you approuve...

Beautiful mia!!!!!

I love stormy skies and light on the landscape. Beautiful.

Linda and Carole, I really appreciate your comments. Thanks a lot!

Such a lovely feel in this painting Mia. Gorgeous landscape!

Thank you, Béatrice, for your lovely comment.

There is something about this painting that said Mia , although a long way out of comfort zone you have produced a lovely painting , terrific.

The lighting is very dramatic and beautifully described.

Thank you very, very much for your positive comments, William and Lesley. I am very flattered that you love my work!

Beautiful painting - I love your pen and wash

Thank you very much for your lovely comment, Lizzie.

Although the colours are quite harmonious, something strikes me as being odd about the relationship between the Hut, cliffs & glacier. The building looks as if it would be of truly epic proportions, unless of course it was an extremely small glacier and the cliffs were no more than hills. Even so it makes for quite a nice picky! Dan

Thank you very much for taking the time to post this nice comment, Daniel. Because it was painted from a picture taken by my husband, I can assure you that the proportions are correct.

I definately think that the buildings look misplaced in the picture, as the wide expanse that there must have been in the photo has been (as is often the case) lost in translation when working from a photo. If the buildings had been made to look inferior in size to the landscape the correct feeling of perspective would have been achieved, especially important in a mountain scene of this magnitude. Perhaps try a different version making the buildings smaller to gain the dramatic desired effect. Best regards

I was looking at our photo's of our mountain holidays in Austria a few years ago and I couldn't resist it: there was a storm coming from over the mountains and yet the "hutte" and the glacier were still in full sunlight. Size: 30x40cm. Any comments welcome!
