How lovely!- a simple pencil sketch of a lonely tree - yet it is so touching and so delightful. I like your other work too, some beautiful studies of plants!

Lovely and delicate sketch Mia

Beautifully drawn, Mia. Simple yet so effective!

Beautiful as always Mia!

Excellent stuff Mia, almost sumi-e, it certainly has the minimalist gnarled look about it, pas for cherry, mume or crabapple. best Mick

Another excellent drawing Mia!

Mia, love this! Beautifully drawn and the delicate washes make it a perfect study.

Thank you all very much for taking the time to post a comment.

The usual top quality Mia.Beautiful

Beautifully shaped tree which you have captured perfectly in your lovely clean and unfussy style.

Simple, clean and captures the tree perfectly

Lovely drawing Mia, from the solidity of the tree trunk to the wispy ends of the branches.

I love this, Mia! It has all your hallmarks of good drawing, elegance and strong composition and tonal work. Superb!

I think they liked it..... As do I. I don't use Rotring pens, or watersoluble ink for that matter, but I well might have a crack now: I like Indian ink and old fashioned dip pens, of which I have a cigar-box full; I've always assumed I'd get rather stiff and unvarying lines from a Rotring, but you certainly don't..... Like the confidence of your lines, and discipline (which some of us, blush, rather lack...). There's always a sense of serenity in your drawings - rather as if, at some level, they've always existed (if that's not too obscure).

Thank you very much Larry, Thea, Michael, Lesley, Seok and Robert for your lovely (and highly appreciated) comments. Robert, the Rotring Artpen I used is not the technical Rapodigraph pen but a sort of fountain pen to use with watersoluble ink cartridges. It gives a "nib-pen-like" lively line. Unfortunately the ink is not lightfast, so I can only use it for personal sketches and drawings. By "unfortunate" experience I know that displaying it, framing it and hanging it on a wall, the ink fades. If you google "Rotring Artpen", you can see how it looks. Working with it is very pleasant because, not only it gives a beautiful line by pressing it harder or not (like a nib pen) but it doesn't scratch and the ink flows very constantly (?): no blobs!!! Touching it here and there with a damp brush gives a lovely wash. I used a sketching nib, but you can have it in different sizes of pen.

So delicate and perfect.

Thank you very much, Val, I appreciate!

This is a .... minutes sketch (forgot to put my chrono on) of a lonely tree on the side of a pond. I used a Rotring Artpen with watersoluble ink and then gave it a quick wash here and there to add some shadow and shape. Thanks for having a look and all comments are very appreciated.
