I love the shapes and limited colours, though Ireland seems to have gone a bit glacial! But lovely!

Martina, I also like the shapes and limited colours in this one.

That spike seems to occur in many of your pieces Martina. Why? I do like it in there however against the other shapes and marks.

Thanks for your comments Jane and Derek. With regards to the spike shape Derek I always use rectangular shapes in my more abstract paintings and I am trying to find a way to combine my landscapes and abstract work. I changed the rectangular shape slightly in the hope that it would fit in better with the landscape. I also like the way that it is not obvious what the shape is, it could represent a person, a tree or even a weapon. Thanks for your interest in my work.

Martina, I love the texture and the semi-abstract style that you have exercised and I also like the way that the grain of the canvas bubbles through the paint on the sky. Excellent! Keep up the great work.

Thanks Nick, your comment is much appreciated

This painting was inspired by the history and landscape of Ireland and is part of a series I am working on at the moment. It is acrylic on canvas and the dimensions are H40xW40xD3cm
