This is a mostly imaginary scene painted using sketches of the Irish landscape as a starting point. I built up the texture underneath with darker colour and let it show through in places as I lightened the colour, layer by layer. This textured scene was painted using twigs, cloths, scrapers, plastic knives and pallet knives as well as brushes. The dimensions of the painting are H40xW50xD1.5cm
