Lots of energy and movement. Really well drawn horses (not that easy - are they!!) and very determined looking jockeys. I agree with your descision about the background as you want the viewer to concentrate on the figures.

Drawn horses - well, I traced them from the photo in the paper, so that I may stand a chance, as my drawing skills are much like my painting - leaves a lot to be desired. I very much like your style and the looseness that you achieve in your paintings and hopefully, one day, so will I. 'Must try harder' seems to be the phrase I have recall from my school reports.
