Two Spaniels On The Alert

Oh - those eyes! I know nothing about scraperboard, but looks as if it is tricky and time consuming to do. You have made a lovely job of this portrait of two very appealing dogs.

Just twigged that this is another of your wife's work - sorry a bit dim of me. You two are on your way to having a joint exhibition of your lovely work!!

Thank you Thea for your lovely comments, yes it is tricky as you say you only have to make a slip & it has ruined it. But i love doing them, (very hard on the eyes). We both like doing our work for pleasure & have not thought about exhibitions as such. Betty.

Scraperboard is extremely difficult and time consuming. You just can't go back if you've made a mistake and it's like drawing in reverse- you have to get rid of what you don't want and keep what you do want. I admire anyone who can do it as well as this is done. Very skilled.

Lovely work, I have never used scraperboard. I think it is very time consuming but looking at the result it is really worthwhile. Well done Betty.

Thank you for your kind comments Carole. The answer to your question yes i do draught them first, but sometimes i have them as gifts & they are already done then all i have to do is scrape them.
