This is good info for me. I just purchased some Saunders paper as well. Mathew, I think you are doing great...

Saunders paper is good; probably you just have to get used to its characteristics; you've produced a very interesting painting with it here - those greens work particularly well against the pinkish stonework, and the sense of light is very strong.

Mathew, Nice gentle treatment and gallery. Arches recomended to me as a paper that would stand lifting and scrubbing. just loaded a new loco painting and now at 3rd use find it not disimilar to Bockingford as to lifting and probably a bit more robust???

This is painted on a sheet of half Imperial Saunders paper, rather than my usual Bockingford. I struggled with it a little as the colour seems to sink, and it takes a long time to dry. However, the surface seems pretty forgiving and allows for corrections without too much trouble.
