Works brilliant Matthew this is nice

Nice simplicity, but I do think that the contrast of the dreaded greens with those lovely burnt orange chimneys would have added interest .<br />You could still add some. I never use mine straight from the tube/pan but mix all of them That way you achieve lots of lovely variety.

Yes, I think it has worked very well. I really like the high-key lighting, the colours and an excellent composition. Lovely painting Matthew.

Thanks for your kind words. I think there is something in this avoidance of green, but it definitely needs more practice. I&#39;ll keep trying...

a watercolour on Saunders paper, quarter imperial size. Following a course with David Paskett last weekend, I have painted this without any green to try to avoid the tyranny of the greens you get with a lot of landscape paintings. Has it worked?
