Exactly what sort of oil pastels do you use Mary? They cannot be like the one's I have looking at the amazingly fine detail you achieve in all your oil pastel work, this is extremely fine work

Hi Ros, thank you for your kind comments on my work, i use any kind of oil pastel i can get my hands on, but i buy only the colours that i need rather than buying a complete set as there are too many colours in the sets that i know i will never use, but i do blend the colours with a paper stump. I usually use velour for oil pastels as the pile will accept the pastel and you can layer the colours to blend which you can't do on Ingres paper. I am also playing with Claire Fotaine pastel mat at the moment, it is much harder work but a nice result. The easiest to blend are sennelier and neopastels. Hope this is of some help.

Thanks for the tips Mary i will have to check those out cheers!
