I think this has worked very well Robert. Good drawing of the houses and the large tree and the sunny foreground creates a sense of distance from the subdued hills beyond. I think you were right to subdue the right hand buildings so that they don't compete with the focal point house on the left.

Hi Robert. I agree with all Stephen says. I also love the sunny patch in the foreground. Very peaceful scene beautifully painted.

I tend to disagree with Stephen and Ann. I think I would have been inclined to darken just a tad the shaded sides of the buildings on the left hand side which would have the effect of taking you into the sunny central building which is the main focus..But a very minor thought on a lovely watercolour

This is lovely work Robert. Good composition and the landscape painted so beautifully. I'm guessing that the colours are much brighter in your painting than they are in your photo.

Great view Robert, lovely houses and super tree

I think this is fine as it is - all cottages look good to me. The painting has just the right feel about it and totally encapsulates the feeling of the area.

This scene in Burnsall in the Yorkshire Dales, from a point behind the village - not the more popular 'tourist' views' - I think I may have subdued the cottages on the right a bit too much though.
