Self Portrait. Kind of.

Hi Mark, thank you for commenting on my blog :-) i appreciate it :-) may i ask where your lips have gone on your self portrait? i like this drawing, i cannot do portaits at all. proportions are perfect i like the detail :-)

Thank you for your comments. I am a big fan of Japenese manga and ,while I don't think this is exactly as they would do it, it has had an effect on my drawings when doing cartoons. In manga there are points when a character isn't saying anything where they appear to have no mouth, using minimal lines and simple shading (but genuinely with jaw dropping backgrounds). That is where I have gone with this. I have drawn and drawn people over and over so much that I can generally get proportions correct...something that isn't observed so strongly in manga. I'm glad you like it.
