Low tide across the Solent

Really lovely, good rendition of sea mist with the ghostly sails just appearing.

Beautiful painting

I wrote a long comment on this which didn't upload much to my annoyance. The three spacial planes which consist of first the single figure then the yahts then the built up area are a great stroke since the progression happens as the painting recedes. Very fine work.

Thank you Carole, Linda and Michael. I have been starring at this since I painted it last Thursday and this morning I painted out two figures in the foreground and suddenly it worked.

Really lovely painting Mark.

Wow! I didn't realise the mainland was so close. Marvellous, moody painting, Mark. We're always attracted to low tide. I wonder why that is. Bri

Thank you Sandra, Jennifer and Brian. I painted this from a photo I took with a 600 mm lense from Seaview. It is about 10 miles to the refinery and about 4 to the people strolling on the sand. You just get this massive foreshortening. I really want to go out strolling there myself now.

Beautiful painting with great atmosphere, Marck.

You have made the refinery backdrop look great - a beautiful painting. Gorgeous colours.

Walking from Seaview to Ryde on the Isle of Wight I caught this view looking across the Solent to Southampton with the refinery in the background. Painted in acrylic on Saunders Waterford paper 20 x 20 inches
