I painted this heron as part of my ‘live’ online series to members of MazArt Academy & it now sits in the academy under the animal, birds & wildlife section. It was a great set of tutorials for capturing light & showing how easy it is to depict bird plumage & fish scales. Something that would put many people off a painting like this. It was painted in acrylic but could just as easily be painted in oils. You can watch these tutorials at mazartacademy.com
