‘Prince Phillip’ in Oils by Marion Dutton Professional Artist. by Marion Dutton
I painted this some years ago, not long after his death. I toyed with the idea of sending it to the Queen but talked myself out of it. I was very pleased with this portrait at the time, especially at how my skills around skin tones was progressing. It’s always a continuous learning process. I tell all my students, it’s the never ending journey! Prince Phillip has looked down on us in the studio ever since.
