Very beautiful work Marion.

This is 'in your face' good Marion.

Great detail I can almost smell it.

Wonderful colours and painting

When I was in college (the Second time) I got a job in a commercial studio in L.A. We had rows of young artists who assembled pieces. For about 3 months. all I ever did was paint a sky in a pre-approved way. As you went down the line, each artist applied his/her assigned item to the piece. To this day, I can paint that sky with no trouble. I didnot learn how to paint all the subtleties from life. I don't know all of your techniques, But this thought process keeps popping into my mind. I'm sure you are quite successful as a teacher of your technique, and probably are a sponsor of this thread. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Skylar - Thank you for commenting on my art, it's Interesting & a little sad to hear your story but here in England I'm not aware of art created that way. To never have your own completed painting is not art as I know it. Such a shame U only got to be proficient on skies. All art is a process & I have my own techniques which I'm always redefining. It's down to hard work & some paintings work out better than others. I am primarily a teacher of painting & I am good at it. See MazArtStudio.co.uk. I give students all I have to help them on their own art journey. But as Salvador Dali once said, "Have no fear of perfection, you'll never reach it".

I only held that job a few months. I have painted since I was 11. I have made my living painting and drawing. Thank you for your elucidation. The reason I asked is some of your apparent techniques appear to be from the school of "painting" which only shows how to create a generic Mountain, flower, or building, but doesn't teach how to paint what you see. I went thru Dali's studio in the 70's. Most Impressive. And thank you for your reply.

Wow, this is a stunner Marion!

Hi Skylar - I've looked at your work on this site. I particularly like the landscapes & as a sky person love the flyin high. It's great to know you still paint & have earned a living from it. I was wrongly thinking you'd been put off by your early commercial experience!! I will keep an eye out for future postings of your work!! Most of the time I'm teaching & students have limited time, so a finished painting has to be achieved within a 1 day framework mostly. Lots of artists who come to me are just starting out. So the paintings & workshop material has to be teachable. It is a different kind of freedom & bliss to paint just for myself. On reflection, I don't do it enough.

Thank you for your kind comments. Marion
