Bronze head. I made a ceramic shell mould, then buried it in the earth after the wax had been burnt out of it, I poured the molten metal into the mould, it exploded like a bomb. To my surprise a beautiful sculpture was born of the explosion, a sculpture I could never have created deliberately.
