Guillemots by Marianne Nicoll

This is great, really captures the atmosphere.

This is a very small detail of a huge clifftop bird colony where thousands of guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes hang on to cliff ledges no more than 3 or 4 inches deep where they take turns incubating their eggs. Very dramatic and dizzy-making. Taken from my photo.

Really like this Marianne - great effects for the background and rocks and the loose style is working a treat.

About the Artist
Marianne Nicoll

Living on the east coast of Scotland gives me a wide choice of scenery and interesting subjects. I work mostly in acrylics though have become drawn to monotype and linocutting too. Currently I exhibit locally and am working on acquiring a looser style and discovering new ways with colour and form.
