Margaret, I have many photographs of lilies from my garden. I can paint a lily off the top of my head - I do use some photographs for reference. I paint quite a bit Spring, Summer and Autumn in the garden. Haven't done it this year yet though. The backgrounds in the painting I just add a bit here and there as I feel like it. Are all yours in your head - do you use any references? Jeannette x

Great to hear you are well and good that I am not the only one seeing your potential to illustrate as Beatrice says above? :-) You say "How I would love to write, have tried off and on, never childrens books. Actually I have an idea for a fairy story - so one day!" Well , perhaps time is a problem also, but it would be lovely to see you do the childrens' story and watch your progress with the illustrations on here? You may see many of mine on my site - peterwoodarts.com. which is why I know its not an easy road! :-) But very rewarding and fullfilling. Mine were written for my daughters when young.
