What a wonderful reminder for them. Beautifully painted.

Lovely composition Manus with the diagonals leading to the Abbey on the Golden section - no doubt where the focal point is here! Lovely story also.

What a great present, another lovely addition to your nice gallery

This looks a beautiful place, Manus and the colours in the sky which you've reflected in the foreground are lovely. Lucky friends!

A beautiful painting, well done.

A great present to have - this picture tells more than one story; the light is very beguiling, the old buildings beautifully painted.

A beautiful gift and wonderful reminder of a special day.

Thanks everybody - Inchcolm is a very special place but easily visited by a regular tourist boat. The Forth can be a bit rough though as it is about 3km wide at this point. You also get fantastic close up views from below the Forth Bridges. -I was able to visit and complete the painting a few weeks before the wedding.

I painted this as a wedding present for a friend / ex neighbour who got married with his American wife at Inchcolm Abbey on the island in the middle of the River Forth. We had a great day at the wedding and sailing about on the Forth (it was flat calm) listening to a live jazz & blues band with a bit of good wine, food and rather dubious Scottish dancing thrown in for good measure.- not easy on a boat. Nice to know this is now hanging in their dining room in their American home.
