Great limited palette has worked well and what a face, wow!

You're on a roll Martin, another terrific portrait.

This is superb Martin.

That is so good, Martin!!!

I see it now, that purple. Did you use ochre as well, in the mix? Excellent by the way.

Hi Marjorie. Think the ochre is in the red. I thought so anyway. Just checking again

Can’t see the label. It’s a weird red. It could be called red ochre. Yes, it’s red ochre.

The black comes out blueish when you thin it. Pebeo again.

Your clever use of a limited Zorn-inspired palette proves that using fewer colours can actually create more depth, with the mix of red and blue-black making the face look remarkably lifelike and far from monotone.

Beautifully painted!

Two lovely portraits Martin.

When I did this piece, I was inspired by the Zorn palette. It’s done in three colours, a Pebeo red, black, and mixing white. Put a tiny bit of purple around the earring as a tease. I can’t see it. This was my point of the picture, to try and create a believable face with minimal colours, without it looking monotone, if that’s the right word? The red was a funny red. Can’t find it , but it was close to mars red, hence the orange. Also, it was a Pebeo, blue black
