Something by Martin Shaw
This sculpture I did after I came out of prison for ‘conspiracy to sell an illicit substance’. I was mad in those days after leaving the military. Still am I suppose, but the madness has manifested into a cortisone. I will never be normal, nor do I want to be, as the insanity of everyday living suits me at this present time. I never had any money after jail, so this was made from old plaster of Paris, left in an old man’s shed, that he didn’t want. It’s horrible, I know, but so was my mind.
