Super pencil sketch Lynne, great use of tone.

Super pencil sketch Lynne, great use of tone.

This is a really nice piece that is well composed and drawn, like the detail and tones shown ,and as you say a bit of drawing practice never comes amiss, need to do some more myself !!! I like this one very much Lynne.

This really is a skillful little sketch Lynne - it really appeals to me

Thank you. I don't spend enough time sketching. I aim to do at least two each week now.

Lovely drawing, we all ought to do more of this.

A fabulous little piece, beautifully drawn.

Great sketch Lynne.

Lovely

This is a wonderful sketch Lynne.

Beautiful sketch Lynne

Beautiful Lynne.

Excellent, strong drawing. As for your bird - MIGHT have been an escaped eagle, but buzzards are becoming much more common, and can reach really impressive dimensions. So, it probably was!

I think you're right Robert, but I like a 'bit of drama', and it's like the fish that got away.................huge. Thanks for all the comments. I never thought to put sketches on, but I guess it shows that one is being productive, and I love looking at other peoples.

I almost missed this, Lynne. Beau-ti-ful!!!! Please show us your sketches, I do and a lot of others also do post them. It is so amazing to see a sketch because not so many people are able to make a beautiful, well done drawing. I love this one!

What a lovely sketch and so well observed

Beautifully drawn. I'm jealous :)

Thank you. Drawing is so essential, and yet I often rush straight into a painting, full of enthusiasm and neglect the basics, only to regret it later because I have not established the tonal values properly. Anyone else guilty of this?

This is a spot by a stream where I used to stop to have my lunch, and one day a huge bird of prey landed on this tree. I watched it for ages. Everyone said it was a buzzard, but it looked more like an escaped eagle to me! A bit of drawing practice never comes amiss!
