Beautiful colours, Lynne and the memories that go with so many of your paintings really stir the emotions. To me, that is what art should do, besides demonstrating the skill of the artist.

Sounds magical and it comes across in your painting - really well executed Lynne

Thank you both. I lost my friend very suddenly, and her beautiful garden is no longer maintained, so it was important to capture it. I can't paint anything that has no association with my life...it seems so pointless just to paint a 'picture'.

I think that is why your paintings are so good Lynne. They are so obviously full of emotion and meaning. Painted from the heart and it shines through.

What a beautiful painting and such a wonderful memory of your friend. I try to paint but am never satisfied with what I produce, I think your comment about having an association with what you paint is something I must try to achieve. Best wishes

Patricia, I am never happy with any of my paintings either. They always seem to evolve into something totally different to the original plan, but as long as I can get some emotion down it must be theraputic, and if someone else likes them that's lovely.

Second posting because I deleted it. This is a larger format than I normally use. I really enjoyed painting this and used many thin washes of colour towards the top of the trees to emphasise the height. This was a little bridge over a stream in my friends garden, and it led to her secret seat where she hid from the world. A special corner for both of us.
