Love those carnations and the shapes you have created Shelagh. Oil pastels and watercolours are such difficult mediums but you have created a wonderful piece of work from them.

After watching a recent programme about American Impressionists, Maria Oakey Dewing stood out for me as I too have a love of gardens and flowers, and in particular her painting called 'Carnations in a Satsuma Vase'. So instead of oils, which I don't use, my version is with the next best thing, oil pastels, with a touch of watercolour for the background.
