Dark Skies

Well, you have been busy! It looks like you have intensified the colour throughout. Each time I have thought you couldn't possibly improve what seemed a lovely piece of work,.....but once more you have! The flowers look brighter, and the shadowy gaps amongst the trees that you've now made very dark has really made them stand out. You have a real flair for knowing just how far to take it. A really individualistic and interesting painting. Really gorgeous.

Better and better - love it Louise

It took a few goes, but I think you have got there in the end. This is my favourite of the three as it has the strength and atmosphere. The colours of the flowers stand out better as do the white houses. All in all a good decision to keep going until you got what you were aiming at. I do also really like the very dark sky. Well done!

Definitely an improvement, Louise! It's lovely to see the progress of your painting and the improvements at each stage. Kudos to you for your perserverance!

I think this version takes my vote. Love the subdued and cool colours in the landscape with warmer colours of the flowers in the foreground. The dark colours really make these moon lit trees to stand out. Very atmospheric.

Yes, I like this too. A slightly more sombre look, but much more positive. I would be very pleased with this Louise.

I didn't think you could improve on the original Louise but this is super! I love the darker tones.

thank you Michael, Thea, Seok, Olga, and Carole. This painting did cause me a few problems. I was never completely happy with it and I suppose because it was playing on my mind, I would actually wake in the night thinking about it and then, half asleep, plan how I could improve on it. There's dedication for you :) I just couldn't leave it as it was. It's definitely finished now and thanks for the encouragement.
