Abstract Figures

Louise I think you are on to something here......so much grabs your attention, especially the use of colour blocks. I hope to try blocks of colour tomorrow, maybe, if I get the chance. The problem with using just the pencils is I don’t get lovely thick lines like this.....I will think on this problem overnight! I bet it took no time at all to do the fishnet stockings with two brushes....lol Has it turned out how you envisioned it?

Thanks Fiona but I'm still not there really. It was meant to be more abstract but the figure shapes are still there. The brushes just go off in the direction that I'm used to painting. Perhaps the upside down way might help matters.. Total confusion here at the moment.. You should try using two, three or in your case 4 paint brushes for thick lines. Trust me, it's great fun even worth the resulting headache. lol I am joking as you know but seriously, paint brushes are worth a try and I for one would be very interested to see the result.

Might give the brushes a try Louise. I’ve a hankering to try two or three sticks of pastel, either shades of the same colour or, three complimentary colours? Then do a few areas of solid colour. Are you using brushes of the same size?

Pastels would be good. Better control but I'd like to see you struggle as I have..lol Yes, same size thinish brushes. Perhaps that's where I've been going wrong. So many options to consider..I might just rake up all the leaves instead!

I can’t watch you struggle alone Louise....brushes it is......at Dawn!

The blocks of colour add something extra. Will be interested to see your and Fiona's continuing experiments.

This looks great Louise - enjoying following your and Fiona's experiments!

Thanks Dennis, Sandra and Margaret. I'm also looking forward with great anticipation to seeing Fiona's painting as well (are you listening Fiona?..lol). Thanks for your patience. I haven't quite finished with these yet and now I have to be up early and try again!

Love this, Louise...so much to look at...almost a jigsaw puzzle!

The girls are very active today Louise! Love this new technique you and Fiona are up to :)

Thanks Thalia and Carole. Not sure if I love it Carole but it's certainly a challenge :)

Good to see you back amongst it and creating Louise. Great stuff. Trying new things/methods are what it's all about.

Thanks Jim and I agree that it's good to try something different :)

Watercolour 20 cm x 30 cm. Still trying out Fiona's 'two lines' idea by taping together two brushes. Blocks of colour added for the abstract effect.
