I think I agree with you about the spontaneity, but everything else is good!

It is a super sketch, but it does look a bit more controlled. Whether I would have spotted this had you not said about penciling the wheels in first, I don't know, but they do look more regular than the last one you did, which was quirky and the bike wheels made interesting shapes between each other. It is brilliantly done with just a rigger though - I haven't tried that yet but I am a bit rubbish at that sort of thing.

Proves what we said though, once we start with a pencil, everything seems to slow down. The wheels ought to be more regular as I drew round the bottom of a salt container. Wrong decision, I much prefer the other, some might say messy, one. Had to try it and now I know. Pencils aren't for me..LOL

Like you Louise, I've ditched the pencil! I much prefer the pen, it stops me dithering, altering and generally fiddling! I used to spend ages planning out the composition etc but I love the spontaneity of just drawing with a continuos line. I imagine, as time goes by I will draw seperate components but I am sure that what I've gained from this challenge will have a very positive effect. I like this painting a lot although I agree it does look more controlled.

It has lost the spontaneity but of course it's still very enjoyable! In the bin with the pen!!

Thanks Christine and LOL Satu, I forgive you!

I like this Louise. Very good!

I roughly penciled in the round wheel shapes this time and discovered that the spontaneity has been lost as a result of doing this. Straight in with the rigger brush makes for a better painting I think.
