Orange and blue!

Orange and blue!

Don't stop, these are all great. Love the way the orange armchair takes centre stage, despite the strength of the Prussian blue.

I agree, keep up the experiments, I'm sure you are learning a lot. This works very well.

Thanks Sharon, not good colours for a room interior though unless 70's style..lol..The Prussian blue gave better darks and as a sketch like this takes so little time, it's all good practice and so interesting for me to see all the different tones from just using two unlikely colours.

Thanks also Stephen. I am learning a lot. This has all come about because Robert keeps suggesting different colour combinations which I just have to try out for myself!

This is fantastic Louise!! I love it!

You are a genius, Louise! Don't stop experimenting, we are all looking forward to your next colour combination!

Thank you Satu and Mia. Mia, I have to see what Robert suggests next. It is an eye opener though for me, I've just discovered that violet and quinacridone gold make an attractive sky colour thanks to Sharon.

I liked you previous one becaue of the colours. Howver, this one is just fabulous; composition and coloirs. My cup of tea.

As they say in Blackjack -'Winner Winner Chicken Dinner'. Absolutely superb Louise.

Thank you Gudrun and Joseph, I haven't heard that one!!

Love this combination of colours Louise, especially were the colours have bled together.

Great stuff - has a real zing about it. I like the lamp and cushion not painted - taking a leaf out of my book, lol! Seriously, I do think those areas of white give relief to the eye when the painting is very vibrant, so it was a good choice to do that.

Do you know I like all your works but this has to be up there with my favourites.

Many thanks Fiona, Thea and Michael. Thea, you're quite right. Any more colour would have killed the image. I'll have been influenced by seeing yours. Michael, I'm delighted that this is possibly one of your favourites from my gallery and have surprised myself in that this took about 10 minutes to rush off. It was one of those extremely quick sketches of the corner of our lounge (which isn't this colour..lol) . I glanced up, sketched away and then splashed on some colour while eating my lunch. This must be the most spontaneous painting that I've ever done and then you say that about it..

Beautiful. This just sings Louise!

A perfect composition. Would have worked as a painting or just a drawing, love it.
