I am loving the soft colours - the lilacs, pinks and baby blue - all quite alien to city life in reality but they give a completely new perspective on it making the city seems friendlier and more idyllic. A clever twist on an urban scene. Great work - these get better and better.

Another cracker Louise, Thea does not obviously appreciate the scenic beauty of cemtral manchester (trying to keep my face straight)!

Thanks Thea, after your words about disliking greens, I'm already planning in my head a 'green scene' to do tomorrow if all goes well. That's what I love about this site. It gives me inspiration and challenges me to try different things.

lol Stephen, you understand, our canals aren't grey and the sky is blue here. Parasols as well to keep off the sun?

Thea has said it so well, good stuff Louise!

These urban scenes are a great attraction to me too. Nice one Louise

Ah, Stephen, I am a committed country dweller. Cities are not for me at all as I feel oppressed by the huge buildings, the plethora of people, the noise, the exhaust fumes, etc. I live in deepest Shropshire, the most underpopulated country in Britain, so am more used to rolling hills, fields of corn, birdsong and country lanes. However, I love to see Louise's interpretation of Manchester, which is obviously a city close to her heart, and she has awakened me to it's delights and you never, know, though her I might even begin to love cities!

Ooops - county, not country.....

Might as well be a different country Thea!

Very nice Louise. Love the two big buildings in the background and how you have left white gaps here and there which I think adds a designer element to the piece.

I nearly overlooked this beauty, Louise. Love it!

Thanks Joseph and Mia.

Lovely work again Louise.

I like the change in perspective, ie not at street level.

Another quick sketch on my khadi paper. No pre pencil drawing, straight in with a fine marker pen followed by watercolour applied loosely. This way I can react immediately to the subject I'm painting without any fiddling, erasing or correcting inevitable mistakes.
