'Flowers in the fall' is a bit out of season now, but the idea was to paint a partner to 'Flowers in the sun' which is in my flower still life folder. For 'Flowers in the fall' I wanted to create a sculpted effect to build up the shape and depth of the yellow flowers and leaves on the ground. I think some of this gets lost in a photo, but I was actually squeezing paint from the tube onto the canvas to build up the leaves and using a palette knife to shape where needed.
