Hello, Lorraine. How big is the painting? And why are you dissatisfied with the result? I am not an expert but I know what I like. I think there's plenty of positive things about this painting. I love the softness of the fur on the arch of her back, the way that her eyes 'follow' you and the whiskers are beautifully done. You certainly haven't chosen an easy angle and yet, on the whole, you get a good sense of shape and form. Keep up the good work :o)

Thanks Kathryn for your encouraging comments. This painting is 31 x 41cm in size.

I liked this a lot. It did remind me of a cat painted by David Hockney in a portrait of someone famous I can't remember. It has real character. I don't like cats that much but have stopped putting them in wheelie bins.

Characterful face on this cat I think I know what you mean about not being completely happy with result, the fur behind the head is a bit problematic the way it seems to go straight back

Acrylics on Canvas Paper. This is a portrait of one of my cats. Not very happy with the result although there is resemblance. What I like in the photo was that she had half her face in strong light and the rest in shadow and I tried to depict that. Comments most welcome.
