This is great.... you certainly have the knack for the velour paper. have managed a soft focus on the body and nice sharp focus on the main subject of the face.... it looks like he/she is giving you a "why are you pointing that camera at me you silly human" stare..... ....colourfix i love but velour and pastelmat drives me nuts...... i make lots of corrections as i go and i dont find velour very forgiving so i applaud your success here......Steve

As yet I've not been able to find velour paper in Australia so I don't know the pleasure but when I can I hope I can turn out something like that...that's one lovely cat

Thanks steve and patsy for your lovely comments. Patsy, also I could'nt find velour paper from Malta but I sent for it over the internet, I heard so much about velour paper that I had to try it out.

That is lovely, the face is superbly done. You've certainly got to grips with velour unlike me. I'm like Steve, don't like it at all. Well done you. Thanks also for your kind comments on Dahlias. I painted them last year but I was trying to remind myself that I CAN paint flowers as I had just ripped two up in disgust!!

Lorraine what a lovely painting of your cat. I bet you are really pleased with it? The eyes are smashing and a lovely soft background just like your cat. Excellent. I like Velour too. PS thank you so much for your kind comments on my Tulips glad you like the diagonal strokes! Best wishes Jeannette x

What a lovely cat if I show this to my wife, she will want to come and hi jack either the picture or the cat. Really nice

Pastels on velour paper. This is a portrait of my cat, taken from a photo. Comments welcomed as always.
